Sacrament of the Sick
The sacrament of the sick strengthens people in a time of serious illness. It can be celebrated in the home by request, or at daily mass, or in hospital.
If you are admitted to Hospital please ensure that the Chaplaincy team know you are in hospital and they will ensure that you are able to receive Holy Communion if you wish, or anointing if necessary.
The Catholic Chaplain at Rotherham General Hospital is Deacon Geoff Spark.
The chaplaincy phone number is: 01709 304098.
Each quarter there is a celebration of the sacrament in the deanery, when all who are suffering from a grave physical or mental condition are invited to celebrate the sacrament communally in the context of the Eucharist. This is followed by refreshments. Look in the weekly bulletin to see when and where the next celebration is taking place.
